Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has called on the state government to enhance surveillance along the interstate border to prevent potential illegal immigration from violence-stricken Bangladesh. In a formal appeal to Arunachal Pradesh's Home Minister Mama Natung, the student organization expressed alarm over reports of widespread displacement in Bangladesh, with many individuals attempting to cross into India unlawfully. "The turmoil in Bangladesh has led to disturbing reports of numerous people being displaced and trying to enter India illegally," AAPSU's representation noted. The student body emphasized their concern about the impact of such immigration on the tribal ecology and demographic balance of Arunachal Pradesh. The AAPSU has urged the government to implement immediate and robust measures to thwart illegal immigration. The organization stressed that these actions are essential for protecting the interests of indigenous communities and preserving the socio-cultural fabric of the state. "We trust that the government will act promptly and decisively to address this urgent issue," the representation concluded.
