CHENNAI: Legendary Tamil actor Arya, who is also known to be a fitness and cycling enthusiast, on Sunday announced he had successfully completed the London-Edinburgh-London 1,540 km cycling event with his team. Taking to Twitter, the actor exulted: "Successfully completed London-Edinburgh-London 1,540 kilometer cycling event with my team. This is one of the most challenging endeavors in my life. Thanks to my family and friends for their support and belief! I am ready for the next challenge!" The acclaimed actor, who undertook the challenge as part of a team called Ryders, had on August 5 put out a video to give an idea of the challenge they were about to face up to. Actor Suriya of 'Jai Bhim' fame had announced the team's jersey for the event. The team, consisting of a dozaen members, rode a gruelling 1540 km at an elevation to complete the challenge. It had to bike for about 125 hours. Apart from rising up to such challenges, the actor will soon be seen on the screens in Shakti Soundar Rajan's 'Captain'. One of toughest cycling events, the 1500-kilometer self-supported London-Edinburgh-London cycle ride across the United Kingdom, returned after a 2-year COVID-19 hiatus to see an overwhelming participation from 1900 cyclists from across the world. After the British, Indians made the 2ndd largest nationality at the event with 172 participants.
