Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of All India Majlis-e Ittehadul Muslimeen and MP from Hyderabad, has been attacking the Congress for campaigning vigorously for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Owaisi has told voters that voting for Congress is to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena, so do not vote in favor of Congress. Appealing for a vote in support of Dr Rahman Khan, who is contesting on AIMIM ticket from Balapur Assembly constituency in Akola, Maharashtra, Asaduddin Owaisi said not to vote for the Congress at all, as doing so would strengthen the BJP and Shiv Sena. Owaisi said that if BJP and Shiv Sena are to be defeated then do not spoil your vote. Earlier, while addressing an election rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, Asaduddin Owaisi made a special appeal to Muslim voters. Owaisi had appealed to Muslim voters to say that now forget secularism for God and work towards uniting. Owaisi also targeted the Congress on the pretext of secularism. Owaisi had said that secularism is not ours but the responsibility of Congress, we have done our duty for 70 years.
