New Delhi: Despite being one of the frontrunners for the position of the Indian cricket coach,Ravi Shastri lost out to Anil Kumble, who is said to have impressed the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) with his detailed presentation in Kolkata.
After the interview was done, Shastri revealed that former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was not present during his interview.
If he was present, he would have asked some questions. I wish he was there," Shastri told Mumbai Mirror.
When asked what could be the reason behind Ganguly's absence, Shastri told The Times of India, "All I can that is that Ganguly wasn't there when I was interviewed and you should ask what problem Ganguly has with me instead of asking me.
" Shastri also refused to share his opinion on whether Kumble's appointment was pre-meditated.
