Assam Assembly Elections: No BJP-BPF alliance, declares Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

Political parties in Assam have launched intense campaigning for the Assam assembly elections. Parties are making strategies to win the elections. Bhartiya Janta Party will not join hands with the Bodo People’s Front (BPF)  for the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections. Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that the BJP will not enter into an alliance with the Bodo People’s Front (BPF).

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that The BJP has already forged an alliance with the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL). Sarma further added that the Talks are on with the UPPL and Lok Sabha MP Naba Sarania-led GSP on seat sharing arrangements for the Assam Assembly Elections.

The minister further informed that the BJP will announce its candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam within 48 hours of the announcement of poll dates. Elections to the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly is slated to be held in April-May this year. Meanwhile, hectic politicking has begun in Assam.
