Political parties are leaving no stone unturned in winning the election to be held in Assam. BJP is roping in leaders from other political parties. After Biswajit Daimary and Emmanuel Mosahary, the BJP has planned to rope in more BPF leaders to the party. According to the source, Assam tourism minister and BPF founding member Chandan Brahma will soon switch camp to join the BJP. However, their is no official confirmation about it. In November last year, Daimary and Mosahary had joined the BJP in November last year. According to the source, finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made plan to weaken BPF in the Bodo belt. BPF has announced to go solo in the upcoming Assam Assembly polls after BJP has dumped the BPF and forged an alliance with UPPL. The party is likely to field candidates in 12 Assembly seats in the elections. In the 2016 Assembly election, the BPF had grabbed 12 seats while the BTC chief Pramod Boro-led UPPL failed to open an account. Meanwhile, congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Assam where he made a strong anti-CAA pitch, saying that the Congress will work for the welfare of the people and attacked the BJP over its divisive agenda.While addressing a massive rally in upper Assam’s Sivasagar district, he said, “CAA will not be implemented and I have worn this stole in which CAA is written but it has been crossed."
