Assam: MLA Mrinal Saikia lacks knowledge, says Aminul Islam

After BJP MLA Mrinal Saikia demanded that Hindus be recognised minorities in various Assam districts, AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam remarked that Saikia lacks knowledge.

"Yes, it is true that in some regions the Muslim population outnumbers the Hindu population," Islam, Mankachar's representative, told the reporters. The word minority, on the other hand, is defined by the constitution." He went on to say that, according to the constitution, despite the fact that Muslims make up about 95% of the population, Kashmir is a minority state.

He stated that while Hindus are a minority in some places, this is just in terms of population and not in terms of treatment. He added, "Mrinal Saikia's comment exposes his lack of expertise." Minorities in India include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, and Zoroastrians (Parsis).
