Heroin worth approximately Rs 1.3 crore recovered by Assam Rifles troops during operations in Mizoram. The troops also arrested three persons in connection with the case. Assam Rifles troops along with the excise and narcotics department and customs department carried out the joint operations in Mizoram on Friday. Assam Rifles confirmed on its Twitter handle on Saturday. Assam took to Twitter and wrote, “AssamRifles Jointly with Excise & Narcotics Department and customs department in Mizoram recovered Heroin worth approx Rs 1.3 Crores from Thuampui Veng in Aizawl and Zokhawthar in Champhai on 12 Feb. Carriers & recovered contraband handed over to the concerned department." The consignments of heroin were recovered during operations at Thuampui Veng in Aizawl district and Zokhawthar in Champhai district. The recovered contraband was later handed over to the authorities. Assam Rifles troops continue to fight against anti-national, anti-social, and anti-narcotics activities in Mizoram.
