Assembly elections: Goa collated 15% votes, Punjab with 8%

New Delhi: Election contest for 5 states have been initiated in Goa and Punjab, on Saturday. It would be the first time when three parties will vie for votes in Punjab. 

For 10 year, only Congress Party and Bharatiya Janata Party took part in an election contest for Punjab, but this time Aam Aadmi Party will also join the race.

Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar stated that this time competition would be very tough for all the parties, which will cross the previous records of 84% votes in the election. As per the reports, from 7 AM to 9 AM Goa have collated 15% of the votes, whereas from 8 AM to 9 AM Punjab accounted around 8% of votes. 

Punjab will provide a large number of seats and many leaders are targeting Punjab for their win. Different contestants include Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal is standing for election from SAD Party, Amarinder Singh from Congress.
