At EXPO2020 Dubai, India invites Agri Start-Ups and FPOs

NEW DELHI: India has invited Start-ups and FPOs to capitalise on Agri and Food Processing policies at EXPO2020 Dubai, showcasing the country's investment-friendly policies and growth potential in agricultural and allied sectors.

Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, informed Start-Ups and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) that equity grants, management costs, and other available support measures will be considered.

On Thursday, Dr. Likhi spoke during the launch of the 'Food, Agriculture, and Livelihood' fortnight at the India Pavilion at EXPO2020 Dubai.

The first fortnight's topic is 'Millets.' India is the world's greatest producer and second-largest exporter of millets, producing all nine popularly known millets. The United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution, sponsored by India and backed by more than 70 countries, designating 2023 as the "International Year of Millets."
