Atmanirbhar Bharat Package: FM gives progress report

The finance ministry (FM) on Friday provided details of the progress made under various schemes announced in the Atmanirbhar package. The ministry noted that around 50% of the loans have been disbursed under the Rs 3-lakh crore collateral-free guaranteed loan scheme for businesses, a part of the Atmanirbhar package announced in May 2020.

"Loans worth Rs 2.05 lakh crore have been sanctioned to over 80 lakh accounts, of which Rs 1.58 lakh crore have been disbursed to over 40 lakh accounts," it noted about its progress on Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) announced in May.

The ministry further noted that Rs 25,000 crore has been disbursed from Additional Emergency Working Capital Funding for farmers through NABARD. A special refinance facility of Rs 30,000 crore was sanctioned by NABARD during COVID-19 to Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and Cooperative Banks.

With regard to farmer aid, the finance ministry stated that 169.77-La Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders with KCC limit of about Rs 1.54-La-Cr have been covered under the Special KCC Saturation Drive for farmers. The government had announced coverage to 2.5-Cr farmers under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme with a credit boost of Rs. 2-La- through a special saturation drive.

In addition, Rs 775 crore has been released to Small Industries Bank Of India under the Rs 1,500 crore interest subvention scheme applicable on loans from the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA).
