Senior journalist Gauri Lankesh has been killed in Karnataka, Bangalore. Some people attacked her near her house. According to the police, Lankesh was coming out of the car and opening the gate of the house, during this time the bike riders shot her. Lankesh, who lives in the Rajrajeshwari area of Bangalore has shot 7 bullets. There is anger in public after the assassination of Gauri Lankesh and everybody is criticizing this incident. Her identity was as a sharp critic of right-wing ideas. She had also received threats before. Gauri was the editor of Weekly Magazine. Along with this, she used to write columns in newspapers too. In TV news channel debates, she was also involved as an activist. There were ideological differences from right-wing organizations of Lankesh. Gauri Lankesh was considered to be a great critic of pro-Hindu politics. After the murder, the police has formed three teams to search for the attackers, the boundaries of the city have been sealed. After the incident, there is a wave of mourning in journalism and civil society. The Press Club of India, NBA and the Foundation for Media Professionals have expressed resentment on the fatal attack and described it as an attack on democracy. Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has condemned the killing of Gauri Lankesh and said that he opposes any kind of violence against journalists. At the same time, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi also condemned the murder of senior Kannada journalist and said that truth can never be suppressed.
