Kabul: Since the Afghan Taliban assumed control of the country, the militant group Islamic State-Khurasan Province (ISKP) has claimed a slew of strikes in the country's north and east. An attack on Afghanistan's largest military hospital in Kabul on November 2 resulted in the deaths of 19 individuals and the injuries of over 40 more. Two explosions ripped through the hospital's entrance, followed by gunfire. Later, the ISKP claimed credit for the heinous attack, even naming the suicide bombers. ISKP has claimed responsibility for 12 strikes in the last several weeks, including suicide attacks in the provinces of Nangarhar, Kabul, Kunar, and Kandahar, resulting in over 150 casualties. Suicide bombers attacked Kandahar earlier this month, specifically targeting the Imam Bargah (a Shia mosque). The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 47 individuals and the injuries of nearly 70 others. The ISKP's official propaganda arm, Amaq News Agency, once again declared its involvement. Anas al Khurasani and Abu Ali al Baluchi were also named as the two attackers. On October 8, a similar suicide attack at a Shia mosque in northern Kunduz city during Friday prayers resulted in over 200 victims. IED strikes have also been conducted out by the ISKP in various sites across the nation. Against October 25, two bombs on Taliban patrolling teams in Jalalabad killed ten persons. On the same day, an ex-government employee was killed in Jalalabad in another incident.
