Recently the first teaser South Star Prabhas starring Adipurush was released but it was welcomed with more negative views than positive views as some people are very disappointed with Saif Ali Khan being caste as Ravana. Meanwhile, various other people are upset with the VFX and other characters' portrayals from the film. Now the chief priest of the Ram temple in Ayodhya urged that the Bollywood film Adipurush need to be immediately banned because it allegedly misrepresented Lord Ram, Hanuman, and Ravana. The head priest Satyendra Das has alleged that the film wrongly portrays Lord Ram, Hanuman and Ravana and is therefore against their dignity said, “Making a film is not a crime but they should not be made to create deliberate controversies to hog the limelight." Uttar Pradesh deputy chief ministers Kesav Prasad Maurya Brajesh Pathak also wrote, “Whatever saints have said needs attention. Movies have often hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Whenever our culture was attacked it was these saints and akharas that saved our culture. We are proud of our culture,” Meanwhile, BJP leader Malavika Avinash said, "The Ravana in the photograph that I see floating around is a guy who looks nothing Indian, has blue eye makeup and is wearing leather jackets. This is our history they are representing; they cannot do it in the guise of creative liberty," she said. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Ravana in the movie while Prabhas is Lord Ram and Kriti Sanon is Sita. Adipurush is a multilingual saga based on an Indian Hindu mythological epic, Ramayana. Adipurush cast includes Kriti Sanon, Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in the lead role. Prabhas plays the Hindu god Lord Ram and Saif Ali Khan will play Lankesh. ‘Adipurush’ is set to hit theatres on January 12, 2023.
