Lucknow: Admit Samajwadi Party leader and Lok Sabha MP from Rampur Azam Khan has been shifted to ICU due to sudden deterioration of his health. Later admitted to Medanta Hospital in UP capital Lucknow. His oxygen levels was falling rapidly. Azam Khan was lodged in Sitapur district jail where he was tested positive and was brought to Lucknow from Sitapur yesterday (May 9) due to ill health. Azam Khan along with his son Abdullah were lodged in Sitapur district jail. His son Abdullah had also tested covid positive. According to media reports, Azam Khan was placed on oxygen support where he needed 4 litres of oxygen every minute, but the oxygen level was continuously decreasing leading to shifting him to ICU. The hospital has said that he is now being given 10 litres of oxygen per minute of pressure. However, the condition of his son Abdullah, who was admitted to Medanta itself, is said to be stable. SP MP Azam Khan has been in jail since February 2020 along with his son. Though his wife was also in jail, she was later granted bail. Azam Khan is accused of illegally occupying land in Rampur and getting fake certificates.
