Baba Ramdev with 1.05 lakh yoga enthusiasts to set Guinness World Record

 

Kota (Rajasthan) [India], June 21 (NT): On the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day, Yoga Mentor Ramdev led the yoga celebrations in Kota, Rajasthan with an aim to make a Guinness World Record.

Approximately 1.05 lakh (still counting) people performed Yoga jointly in Kota to form a Guinness World Record on the 4th edition of International Yoga Day.

During addressing the media, Ramdev stated "A certificate has already been issued to us for making record of more than 1.05 lakh people performing yoga together”.

He added that more people are joining and the counting is still happening. More than 100 world records were recorded today in different section based on surya namaskars, push-ups, etc.

He lauded that “It's a proud moment for us."

Along with Baba Ramdev, Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved Limited and co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia performed yoga at the venue as ANI reported.

 On a related note Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Prakash Javadekar, and Suresh Prabhu also performed yoga at diverse locations from corner to corner of the nation.

The first International Day of Yoga was observed all over the globe on June 21, 2015. On that day more than 30,000 people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, performed yoga asanas (postures) at Rajpath in Delhi.
