NEW DELHI: India's star badminton player H S Prannoy hits out at selectors for not giving Arjuna Award. He said it is more important for you to get the award than to know people who can give your name more exposure than your performance. The Badminton Association of India had also named B Sai Praneet hone and Manu Atri besides Prannoy, but the 12-member selection committee selected Praneet for the Arjuna Award. 19 sportspersons have been selected from different sports for the Arjuna Award, including the name of Sai Praneeth. Wrestlers Bajrang Pooniya and Paraathlete Deepa Malik have been selected for the sporting jewel. In a tweet, Prannoy expressed his displeasure that if you want to see your name in the list of awards, you need to be accompanied by people who can put your name on the list. He also said that performance in our country is low and most sadly you can't say anything. However, Prannoy's name for the Arjuna award was sent to the Sports Ministry late. The star badminton player won the medal of the mics doubles at the Commonwealth Games in 2018. He also won the bronze medal of the men's singles at the 2018 Asian Championships.
