Bajaj to enter the electric vehicle segment soon

Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto has decided to enter the electric vehicle segment by 2020. Bajaj also said that this brand will be similar to Tesla in the two-wheeler segment.

Bajaj Group's CEO, Rajiv Bajaj said in an interview that "In today's time the performance of an electric vehicle is very low, and it can not be used for long-distance traveling."

In addition to that, Bajaj Auto and Hero Electrical have been in the Indian market for almost 10 years. It has approximately 300 service centers. Apart from this, another company TVS Motor Company is also working on the electric scooter. But Bajaj Auto is the first Indian two-wheeler company to announce a launch of the separate electric vehicle.

Bajaj's competition in this segment will be by the T6X electric motorcycle which has been made by the Bangalore-based startup company, Athar Energy.
