Bangalore hosting first G-20 Finance, Central Bank Deputies meet today

BANGALORE: The first Finance & Central Bank Deputies meeting under India's G20 leadership will get underway in Bangalore on Tuesday with more than 180 representatives from around the globe.

The meeting would include topics such as the global economy, the international financial system, infrastructure, and sustainable finance.

Deliberations will go on until December 15, according to government sources.

The meeting will be co-chaired by RBI Deputy Governor Michael Patra and economic affairs secretary Ajay Seth. The three-day meeting will include participation from their counterparts from G20 member nations as well as from a number of other nations and international organisations that India has invited.

A global coordinated response to unbacked digital assets, the advancement of the international taxation agenda, controlling global debt vulnerabilities, increasing financial inclusion and productivity gains, finance for climate action and SDGs, and more will also be covered at the summit.
