Dhaka: To curb the ever-increasing prices of onions, the central government has banned exports. After the ban on onion exports, the neighbouring country Bangladesh is very upset. Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, who visited India, said that "we have a problem due to sudden stop of onion exports by India. Sheikh Hasina said that I do not know why the export of onion was changed, we stopped eating onion. If India takes any such step from now on, please give information first so that we too can make arrangements".

Sheikh Hasina said that "Bangladesh is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. She said we hope that Bangladesh will become a developed nation by 2041. Sheikh Hasina said that our relations with India are very good, and I am confident that the relationship between the two countries will strengthen further in the coming years. It is worth noting that with a view to curbing the price of onion, the government has recently stopped the export of onion with immediate effect".

After the huge increase in onion prices, the central government decided to stop the export of onion. On behalf of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, it was said that by amending the onion export policy, all varieties of onion exports have been banned with immediate effect. This moratorium will remain until the next order.
