They live in the small town of Tehri in Uttarakhand. All of three are always together and their friendship is unbreakable. SK is a cunning lawyer who earns by blackmailing local businessmen who indulge in unprofessional conducts while Nauti is a wannabe fashion designer and runs her own boutique on the other hand Tripathi aspires to start his own business. But life of trio takes a u-turn when Tripathi’s new business set-up saw an excessively high electricity bill of 54 lakhs. Director Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu (BGMC) is all about a very relevant subject which is often faced to the common man in a several parts of our country. The second half of BGMC starts in the court, as Shahid Kapoor- SK targets the crooked power company. Here audience sees heightened drama. From this segment Shahid’s character becomes the honest lawyer His performance during the climax is outstanding. Shraddha Kapoor plays the vivacious small town girl with flamboyance. Yami Gautam not perfectly seems as a lawyer, only in the second half and she doesn’t impress the viewers.
