In yet another shocking incident, a first-year BBA student of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was made to strip and forced to consume liquor by his three classmates at a private hostel in Uttarakhand's Dehradun. As per the information, The student was also brutally assaulted by his classmates a video of the crime was also recorded by the accused in which he was threatened for giving Rs 60,000. When the torture became unbearable, the victim reportedly filed a complaint at the nearest police station. According to the police officials, the students were probably partying and somehow things went out of hand. Police further added that all of them live in the same hostel, which is located outside the university campus. On the basis of the complaint of the victim, Police at Prem Nagar police station have registered a case against the accused under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 384 (extortion) of the IPC. The victim, The victim in his complaint said in his complaint that the incident took place on November 27 at around 2:30 am, while he was studying in his room. The student said, "Three of my classmates and seniors entered my room with liquor and forced me to drink it. Then I was thrashed, forced to strip and a video was also recorded." UPES officials stated that the student was not "ragged." Manish Madaan, registrar of the university also said that "the incident has come to our notice and we will take strict disciplinary action against the students who are involved."
