Kolkata: BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday (February 10, 2022) blamed Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sheikh Sufyan for the large-scale violence in West Bengal after last year's assembly elections. Describing the Hindus in West Bengal in danger, he said that under Mamata Banerjee the situation in Bengal has become worse than Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to the media, Suvendu has told that TMC has created an atmosphere like a "gas chamber for democracy" in West Bengal to "manipulate" the civic elections. He said that Mamta Banerjee's polling agent Sheikh Sufiyan in Nandigram has done all the crime. In a meeting with the State Election Commission, Suvendu Adhikari said, 'We had met the State Election Commission (SEC) regarding the post-poll violence. TMC has created a 'gas chamber for democracy' situation in West Bengal. We have requested the SEC to deploy Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in the state. Attacking the TMC, the official said that over one lakh Hindus have so far left the state due to the post-poll violence. He said that, 'Sheikh Sufiyan of TMC is responsible for the post-poll violence in the state, he also committed atrocities on women. The situation in Bengal is worse than in Jammu and Kashmir.
