Kolkata: Several families affected by post-election violence in West Bengal have fled to Assam. In the same vein, West Bengal Governor Dhankhar today visited Agomani area of Assam and met the victims' families and assured them of all possible help. Meanwhile, an elderly hugged Jagdeep Dhankhar and started crying. News agency ANI shared some pictures from Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar's visit showing an elderly governor holding Dhankar and crying. It may be recalled that Governor Jagdeep Dhankar had reached Behar on Thursday to take stock of the situation in the violence where he was shown black flags and slogans were raised to go back. Governor Dhankhar, who is on a visit to the violence-hit district after the results of the West Bengal elections, said, "The country is facing the challenge of covid on the one hand. West Bengal is facing a double challenge". He said the violence is taking place only on the ground that some people decided to cast their votes of their own accord.
