Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat has been in news since its inception due to exit of Priyanka Chopra from the film. Ali Abbas Zafar has made an announcement that his films’s Desi girl had exited the team for personal reasons after Bharat was touted as Priyanka Chopra’s big Bollywood comeback. Soon after Priyanka walked out on the film, fans were instantly speculating about the leading lady of Bharat and many wishes for Kat to become a part of the movie. Talking about how Katrina stepped in, the director Ali Abbas Zafar said, “I'm grateful to Katrina for stepping in. I was honest with her and told her I was sending her a script. If she liked it, we'd discuss it further. She's my closest friend in Mumbai. But on the work front, we're very transparent with each other. If she doesn't like something I'm doing, she lets me know and vice versa.” The story of Bharat revolves around the journey of a man and a nation together, shows Salman’s four different avatars that span around 50 years. Bharat also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff and Nora Fatehi. It is adapted from the 2014 South Korean movie An Ode To My Father and is set to release on Eid, June 5, this year.
