Bharatha Sindhuri : a biopic on the life of IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri

Controversial incidents that led to the unscheduled transfer of IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri from Mysuru district as Deputy Commissioner, had made headlines for a long time. This story is now going to come alive on the silver screen. Titled Bharatha Sindhuri, the film will be helmed by Krishna Swarnasandra.

Krishna says, “I had registered the title with Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce before all the controversies happened. As the chief executive officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat, she did a fantastic job of making Mandya district free from open defecation, which inspired me to do a movie based on her life so it would serve as a catalyst for future generations. The movie will also give an insight into the recent controversy. Overall, the movie will capture her life journey from her childhood days, becoming an IAS officer and serving the people.”

There were speculations that actress Akshatha Pandavapura will step into the role of Rohini Sindhuri, which is yet to be finalized by the team. “There is a pandemic now so we have delayed the process of finalizing the star cast, technical team and shooting of the film. We will announce it officially once everything is finalized.”
