Bhawanipur by-election: Priyanka Tibrewal to file nomination today, Contest against Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal is scheduled to file her nomination in the by-election to the Bhawanipur assembly seat in West Bengal today. West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mamata Banerjee is in the fray from this seat. The BJP has given a ticket to Priyanka against Mamata Banerjee. Priyanka is a lawyer by profession.

Tibrewal launched his campaign by making a lotus mark on the wall in Bhavanipur assembly on Sunday. In the meantime, she had said, 'I will file my nomination tomorrow (Monday). The people of the province have the right to live. The CM Mamata Banerjee-led government is taking away this right from the people.' Meanwhile, Tibrewal also said, "I have come to the electoral fray for the people of Bengal and am fighting for them."

Elections will be held in Bhawanipur as well as Jangipur and Samsherganj in the state. All these seats will go to the polls on September 30. The votes will be counted on October 3. Priyanka Tibriwal has also served as a legal adviser to BJP leader Babul Supriyo. Priyanka Tibrewal joined the BJP in August 2014. She is said to be inspired by PM Modi and considers her role model in Politics.
