Bhubaneswar to host 7th International Radio Fair on Feb 13-14

On the occasion of World Radio Day 2021, tomorrow (February 13) Eastern Indian city Bhubaneswar is going to host the Seventh International Radio Fair, which is the biggest radio get-together of India.

The mega event is to be organized by Outreach on 13th & 14th February 2021. The objective of the event is to celebrate Radio and World Radio Day, increasing Radio listenership, sensitizing broadcasters on the importance of radio in public service, encouraging youngsters to choose radio as career, promotion and exchange of culture & providing assistance to Community radio enthusiasts.

Claimed to be country’s biggest event of its kind, the fair is the brain-child of Bhubaneswar-based broadcast journalist Subrat Pati.

The annual fair aims at celebrating World Radio Day and highlighting the relevance of radio in today’s life and society despite the advancements in ultra-modern communication system, he explained

“Despite several major developments in the communication system, radio still continues to play the pivotal role in our lives and society. Indeed, it has been the oldest and best service to connect everyone during calamities apart from wooing the young and the old”, he pointed out.

Radio listeners from many parts of India, working Radio Jockeys, Broadcasters and technicians from different stations of India, Union & State Ministers, Govt officials, station owners, stakeholders, radio associations, Radio Stations from different parts of the country and abroad, Artists from different states, broadcasting equipment manufacturers, radio Set manufacturers and Ham radio operators from different states are joining the event.

There will be stalls in the exhibition ground to display thousands of antique radio sets, old and new broadcasting equipment, Digital Radio Mondiale Sets, auxiliary studio, sand art on World Radio Day theme, Philately on radio. There will be also radio repairing shop, new radio set(for sale) shop, handmade radio shop and a selfie zone.
