Bhubaneswar: Odisha's Bhubaneswar has become the first city in India to achieve 100 per cent vaccination coverage against corona. In addition, one lakh migrant workers have also been given the first dose of corona vaccine in the capital Odisha. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation South-East Regional Deputy Commissioner Anshuman Rath said 100 per cent of the population in Bhubaneswar has been "vaccinated against life" against corona. With this, one lakh migrant workers in the city have been vaccinated for the first time. Anshuman Rath informed that Bhubaneswar municipal corporation had set a target of 100 per cent vaccination of its population till July 31. A total of 9,07,000 people over the age of 18 were vaccinated for the second time. This includes 3,100 health workers, 33,000 frontline workers, 18-45 years of age, 5,17,00 and 3,20,000 people over the age of 45. According to the report, about 18,35,00 doses of corona vaccine have been given as of July 30. To accelerate the vaccination drive, 55 vaccination centres were opened in Bhubaneswar, out of which 30 were set up in primary health centres and community centres. At least 10 drive-through vaccination facilities were set up in the city. In addition, 15 vaccination centres were set up within schools for the elderly and disabled.
