Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will build houses for Dalits and for the poor on land seized from the mafia. The CM made the announcement while speaking in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. CM Yogi Adityanath had told the Legislative Council in February this year that the UP revenue department has so far freed 67,000 acres of land from land mafias during the current government and preferred to set up a playground on it. Replying to a question raised by MLC Suresh Kumar Tripathi, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "A land mafia task force was set up to free public and private land after the formation of this government in 2017. The task force has so far freed 67,000 acres of revenue department land.'' CM Yogi Adityanath further said, "Sports fields have been given priority under sports department, youth welfare department or MGNREGA.'' CM Yogi said that it is our endeavor to build playgrounds at the panchayat level. If the land is available with primary or upper primary schools, then the children will get space for themselves and the villagers will also get a place to organize public programs.
