CCI's big statement said, Just an inquiry into the competition aspect...

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday said that the WHATSAPP's new privacy policy action by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is probably more related to concerns about the privacy of customers. The court said that this does not seem to be an investigation into the misuse of dominance in the market. The CCI said in court that it had not yet taken action to violate the privacy of individual people. This case is in the Supreme Court. To this, Justice Naveen Chawla said, "It seems that the regulator is concerned about the issue of privacy of consumers"

The court said, "Your order does not see the investigation of the alleged dominance in the market". In this case in Delhi High Court, on Tuesday, Advocate of Competition Commission Aman Lekhi said that the new privacy policy of WHATSAPP will lead to excessive collection of data of users using this network platform and it is aimed at connecting more and more users. To target advertising is going to be like 'chasing' consumers. This is a way to misuse their dominance in the market.

The CCI has ordered action on WhatsApp's new privacy policy for sending messages. Justifying its investigation, the CCI presented its case before the court. Lekhi said that CCI is looking into the aspects of competition in this case. The competition regulator is not looking into individual privacy violations. The matter related to the right to privacy is in the Supreme Court.
