Patna: In Bihar's Katihar, a middle-aged man was brutally killed by slitting his throat. The incident is of ward number six of Kumhari Panchayat under the Kadwa police station area. Naresh Mahaldar, a 52-year-old local resident, was strangled to death by unknown people on the banks of the river, and the body was thrown into the river. When some people were going to work on the fields in the morning, they saw something floating in the river, went closer, and saw that it was someone's dead body. Thousands of people gathered on seeing the dead body. Villagers informed about the incident to the Kadwa police. After this, the Kadwa police team reached the spot with force and took the dead body into custody. In order to take possession, the deceased was identified as 52-year-old Naresh Mahaldar, a resident of Kumhadi. The dead body has been taken into custody by the Kadva police and sent for postmortem. The cause of the incident and the identity of the accused is yet to be known. As soon as the relatives of the deceased got the information about the incident, mourning spread in their house. It is said that the deceased has three sons Kanhaiya Mahaldar, Gopal Mahaldar, and Anil Mahaldar, who are still out of the house. The deceased also has a daughter. The same Kadwa police have recovered two fishing nets, two pairs of slippers, and some clothes from the spot. The wife of the deceased and his relatives have informed that, at 9:00 in the morning, Naresh was in his house only. The incident took place between 10 am and 11 am. The same Kadwa police along with the entire team are conducting a thorough inspection on the spot. The body has been sent to Sadar Hospital Katihar for postmortem.
