Patna: Unidentified vehicle crushed the middle-aged in Mokama, Bihar, in which the man died on the spot. Angry villagers started a commotion by jamming the National Highway 83 after the accident. The highway was jammed for about four hours. Police and administration officials reached the spot on information. Villagers were pacified by assuring compensation. Jitendra Kumar, 48, of Ramnagar village under Mokama's police station Ghoswari area, was going to oil mill. It is reported that Jitendra was crossing the National Highway 83, during which an unknown vehicle crushed him. Jitendra died on the spot in this tragic accident. Outraged by the incident, Jitendra's family and villagers started making uproar by blocking the highway. There was a commotion on the National Highway for about four hours. During this, police and administration officials reached the spot. Angry villagers were demanding compensation of 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased. Administrative officials assured to get compensation. Even after this, when the villagers did not agree, the victim's family was pacified by giving a check for financial assistance of Rs 20 thousand on the spot. After this, the police took the dead body to the hospital for postmortem. After which the traffic on the highway was able to go smoothly.
