Patna: An elderly man was beaten to death in a land dispute in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. This incident is of Sugar Mahchi village. Chanchal Mahato of 60 years in the land dispute was then brutally beaten on Sunday. He then died. The victim's family has burnt the body of the elderly man outside the house of the accused protesting against the incident. The elderly Chanchal Mahato was badly injured after the beating. He was admitted to GMCH Hospital for treatment. Where he died on Monday. The hospital handed over the body to the victim's family after postmortem. The agitated family members cremated his body at the door of the accused. Gopalpur police station in-charge Rajroop Rai said a police team rushed to the spot as soon as they came to know about the case. The elderly man's son Umesh Mahato reached the police station and registered a case of murder. Mukesh, Vikas, Madan, Lalan, Manisha, Ramkali Devi, and Kari Kushwaha have been named accused in the murder case by the victim's family. Police have assured the victim's family of strict action against the accused after investigation.
