Patna: Full liquor ban is in force in Bihar, but still illegal smuggling of liquor is being carried out indiscriminately under the administration's nose in the capital Patna. Due to this, the excise department has recovered the biggest liquor consignment till date in Patna. The excise department has recovered 5 thousand cases of alcohol, valued at Rs 5 crore. In charge of the Patna City, Bypass police station and the watchman has been suspended on charges of negligence in this case. Regarding the matter, the Commissioner of Excise, Krishna Paswan said that such a large consignment of illicit liquor was never caught before today. Out of 9 trucks, liquor has been caught, containing about five thousand boxes. It took 24 hours to transport the seized liquor boxes to the warehouse of the excise department, after which it was sealed. Police have arrested 9 people so far in this case. The police have also arrested the landowner in the case of smuggling of liquor, on whose land a warehouse was built and liquor was being kept. Rs 4 lakh cash and two bottles of liquor have also been recovered from his house. According to police, the man accused of smuggling illegal liquor is from another state. This is the reason that the laborers in the warehouse also used to work in the other state so that no one was aware.
