Bill Gates and Melinda Gates reunite a year after divorce at an event

Bill Gates and Melinda Gates, who recently reunited at an event, continue to put philanthropy first despite their divorce. This is why the former couple attended the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's 2022 Goalkeepers event in New York City on Tuesday and Wednesday, which was an in-person event two years after the pandemic.

The two posed with the honorees at the Goalkeepers 2022 Global Goals Awards celebration, which also featured a climate change activist, a journalist, a nonprofit organiser, and the head of the European Commission. Melinda discussed her professional relationship with her ex-husband Bill Gates in an interview with Bloomberg TV prior to their presence at the event.

When discussing their joint efforts for the foundation, she added, "We met for the first time with our board of trustees last week in person. What I think they would all tell you is that Bill and Melinda remain completely committed to this institution and to working effectively together. And that’s what we’re doing today."

Everyone was taken aback when the former couple, who had been married for 27 years, announced in early May of last year that they were calling it quits. They have three children together and have been married since January 1994. The ex-couple previously reunited for their daughter Jennifer Gates' opulent wedding. At their horse farm in Westchester, New York, Bill and Melinda's daughter wed Nayel Nassar, an Olympic athlete and fellow equestrian, in October of last year.
