Kolkata: The unexpected success of the BJP in Bengal in the Lok Sabha elections has boost the confidence of paty in the state. BJP claims that the party has created one crore new members in Bengal. The party's claim is a political message on the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the national convener of the BJP membership campaign, claimed that all 10,600 voters of booth No.14 in Chudasma district of Gujarat have become members of the BJP. In Ajmer, Rajasthan, a number of members belonging to the Muslim community also joined the BJP, who first joined the party and then went to perform Haj. BJP's acting national president Jaypee Nadda claimed during a press conference on Thursday that the party has increased the number of its members to a record. So far, 5.81 crore subscribers have been registered online. The information of the members of several states could not be recorded online due to various reasons. He claims that by the time the process is over, more than seven crore members will have become party members. This number is much higher than the target set for the campaign at Rs 2.20 crore (20 per cent of the former member strength). The BJP has claimed that the party has more than six lakh members in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the party's claim, 19 crore trees were planted during the campaign.
