BJP dissolves all Assam minority front units, loses 8 Muslim candidates of party

Guwahati: A press release signed by BJP General Secretary Dr. Rajdeep Roy has been released today. According to the release, the party's minority front's performance in the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections has been shameful. The performance was so poor that the party did not even get the votes of the registered members of the Minority Front. That is why BJP state unit president Ranjit Kumar Das has dissolved the party's minority front in the state.

The release issued by the party is significant because it reflects the attitude of minorities towards the BJP. What will the party expect from the common minority voters if the minority front members of the party whose leadership slogan is 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' do not vote for it? The incident is also a message to party leaders who represent the Central government and the party in the North-East and claim that the BJP has got the votes of minorities in Assam.

The BJP's decision to dissolve the minority front in Assam would be correct to be seen with the news that the total number of Muslim MLAs in the elections held in five states is 111. In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) had fielded 42 Muslim candidates, losing only one. In Assam, all of the eight Muslim Candidates of the BJP lost. Perhaps that is why Ranjit Kumar Das dissolved the district, block, and state committees of the Minority Front.
