BJP leader Saroj Pandey troubles increased, Court decided seven points of investigation

Justice Gautam Bhaduri's single bench was heard on Thursday on the petition of former Congress MLA Lekharam Sahu challenging the election application of Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Saroj Pandey. The court has fixed seven points for investigation against Rajya Sabha member Pandey. Along with this, Pandey has been given three weeks' time to present the document.

In the year 2018, elections were held for the only Rajya Sabha seat vacated by the state quota in the month of March. The Congress party made former MLA Lekharam Sahu its candidate. After being defeated in the election, Lekharam Sahu filed a petition in the High Court against elected Rajya Sabha member Saroj Pandey.

For your information, let us tell you that 11 BJP MLAs had signed the nomination form filled by Saroj. All of them held the post of profit. The constitutionality of being a proposer and supporter was challenged while being on the post of profit. Apart from this, the petitioner also accused Saroj Pandey of hiding the permanent address and bank account number in the nomination letter.
