BJP leaders furious over lapse in PM Modi's security

Chandigarh: In Punjab, the government of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi seems to be in turmoil over the lapse in the security of PM Narendra Modi's convoy. From the Chief Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled states to the party President JP Nadda, the Congress has been accused of doing petty politics regarding this matter. The sharpest attack came from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who said there should be a high-level investigation into the matter. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also took a dig at the Congress on this matter.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh shared the post on Ku and wrote- 'The responsibility of the security of the Prime Minister was of the state government. This is not playing with the life of the Prime Minister, but playing with the security of the nation. This Congress, the Congress government and the Gandhi family are so full of hatred that they play with the security of the Prime Minister! This is a criminal conspiracy.'

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on the issue, "It is shameful that PM Modi's convoy going to inaugurate schemes for the development of Punjab was stopped by protesters. This is a serious security lapse and the non-look at the issue by the Punjab CM makes the whole incident more serious. He added, "Today's incident shows that the Congress is less interested in the development and only wants to do politics. There should be a high-level investigation of such a case in a border state."
