BJP leader's wife sends defamation notice to Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: The battle over the Hanuman Chalisa row in Maharashtra has now come a long way. Meanwhile, the arrest of Independent MP Navneet Rana and the attack on BJP leader Kirit Somaiya have served to fuel the war. Both these leaders are targeted by the Shiv Sena.

Meanwhile, Megha Somaiya, wife of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, has sent a defamation notice to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut. The notice seeks registration of a case seeking legal action under Sections 500, 501 and 506 of the IPC for not seeking an apology within 48 hours. Sanjay Raut had levelled allegations against Megha Somaiya over the alleged toilet scam. In response, Kirit Soumaya's wife has hit back.

According to the case registered against Kirit Somaiya and some others, the criminals had deposited over Rs 57 crore for the refurbishment of the aircraft carrier 'Vikrant' that was decommissioned from naval service. However, instead of depositing the amount in the software, the secretary to the Governor of Maharashtra, the BJP leader allegedly embezzled the money. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut alleges that Kirit Somaiya along with his wife has done this scam. Raut claimed that if not today or tomorrow, Somaiya will remain in jail in this matter. However, the BJP leader has denied all the allegations against him.
