'Rahul Gandhi supports rioters', says BJP on incidents of communal violence

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday alleged that the Congress and other opposition parties "indulge in 'vulture politics' over the dead bodies and they only want to disturb harmony in the society". Yes, and the BJP issued a statement late last night in response to the joint statement of the opposition parties on the recent incidents of hate speech and communal violence in the country. In fact, the opposition also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "silence". Recently, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia compared the opposition's targeting of Prime Minister Modi to the mud-slinging of the sky. In fact, Bhatia questioned Congress President Sonia Gandhi over the Karauli violence in Rajasthan and alleged that "action is not being taken against the rioters because of her party's appeasement politics".

He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi stands with the rioters and tries to provoke the situation. Reacting sharply to the joint statements of 13 leaders of opposition parties on incidents of communal violence, the BJP on Saturday said, "Congress and other parties indulge in arson and disturb the harmony between communities." Further, Gaurav Bhatia hit out at the appeal of the joint statement, alleging that, "Congress and other parties indulge in arson and disturb communal harmony, whether in power or in the opposition. The BJP also accused opposition leaders of duplicity, citing arson and communal violence in West Bengal.''

13 opposition parties, including Congress, issued a joint statement calling upon the people to maintain peace and harmony in the wake of the recent incidents of violence in different parts of the country. In fact, Gaurav Bhatia says, "The joint statement is fake. People are questioning Congress President Sonia Gandhi for her silence on Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot over his failure to nab Matlub Ahmed, the main accused in the Karauli violence? Why has he been absconding for 14 days? Your appeal demands strict action against the rioters. But that's not happening in Karauli. Is it because you want to do appeasement politics? The action is contrary to the words used in the joint statement.''

He also said, "You are not taking action in the state where you are in power. In Madhya Pradesh, where you are in the opposition, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken strict action against the accused of the violence. The accused has been arrested. Their illegal properties are being bulldozed. Rahul Gandhi called it a bulldozer of hate. You stand with the rioters and break the morale of the policemen.''
