Bangalore: Karnataka Congress unit president DK Shivakumar has made a big allegation that the BJP's legal teams are trying their best to get the nominations of Congress candidates cancelled ahead of the May 10 assembly elections. In a press conference on Saturday (April 22), Shivakumar claimed that CM Basavaraj Bommai personally called the officials. Now the Congress leader has urged the Election Commission to probe the call register of the Chief Minister. Karnataka Congress State President DK Shivakumar said, "Calls are being received from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) to the Returning Officer asking for disqualification of Congress candidates; however, applications of some BJP candidates have been rejected." Should go, but orders are being issued to keep them on hold. DK Shivakumar said, "You know how they took action in my case even after I filed a nomination several times. They tried to disqualify my application as well. The Chief Minister's Office is participating in it; the CM himself is involved in asking the Returning Officers to accept the applications."
