New Delhi: There was a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha on Friday on the statement of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on 'Rape in India'. All the women MPs of BJP including Union Minister Smriti Irani attacked Rahul Gandhi and demanded his apology. Smriti Irani strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi's statement and said that Rahul Gandhi is using rape as a political weapon. Smriti Irani said “This is first time in history that a leader is giving a clarion call that Indian women should be raped. Is this Rahul Gandhi's message to the people of the country? Actually, during the election rally in Godda, Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi had said"Narendra Modi had said 'Make in India' but nowadays wherever you look, it is 'Rape in India'. In Uttar Pradesh, Narendra Modi's MLA raped a woman, then she met with an accident but Narendra Modi did not utter a word," In Rajya Sabha too, the issue echoed with a few MPs raising slogans of 'Rahul Gandhi maafi maango' over his 'rape in India' remark. During this, Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu said that you cannot name any person who is not a part of this House. No one has the right to interrupt the proceedings of the House.
