Corona vaccine booster dose to be implemented across the country from today

New Delhi: The corona panic in the country is constantly increasing. The third wave is seeing a tremendous increase in cases. In this case, preparations for giving booster dose or precaution dose have now been completed. From today, health care workers and people in the age group of 60 who have any comorbidity will be given the third dose of the vaccine.

The Central Government has made it clear that those who are going to take booster doses will be given the same vaccine as the first two doses. That is, if you have received both doses of the covishield vaccine, the booster dose is also going to be of covishield. The Health Ministry has said that people who have a booster dose or a precaution dose will not need to be reregistered. They have two options to live in.

First, they can make appointments on the Cowin app. A separate feature has now been added to the app regarding booster doses, so appointments can be easily made. The second option is that you can get vaccinated directly by visiting the vaccination centre. There will also be no need for re-registration. On the other hand, if you took the second dose of the corona vaccine 9 months ago, you can apply for a booster dose. If the second dose is less than 9 months, the booster dose will not take place yet.
