Guwahati: The dispute between Assam and Mizoram has been going on since last week's violent clashes. In Assam, blocked areas have been installed for Mizoram. The result is that Mizoram is beginning to run short of essential commodities. Petrol and diesel are also being given to all within one limit. According to reports, problems have increased in Mizoram after Assam was blocked. Rationing has been started at all petrol pumps and the limit for who will fill petrol and diesel has been fixed. Not only this, the approval of the deputy commissioner of the district will also have to be obtained for petrol and diesel. In Mizoram, only 3 liters of petrol or diesel is being provided daily to two-wheelers. In addition, a limit of 5 liters has been fixed for medium private vehicles. The Chief Secretary of Mizoram has said in the discussion that there is a shortage of essential commodities in the state. Meanwhile, Mizoram CM Zoramthanga has also informed the Central government about the block. Zoramthanga had said, "Assam has imposed a blockade against Mizoram. The Central Government should immediately intervene. This should not become the second Berlin." Amidst the tension, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the dispute can be resolved only through discussion.
