Rio De generio: According to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil, the world should come together as a group of nations committed to finding a solution that will bring Russia and Ukraine to a state of peace. He added that Brazil would not provide Kiev with weapons, in contrast to many Western countries. After meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Brasilia, the capital of the country, the president, who is more commonly known by his first name Lula, said: "It is necessary to constitute a group with enough strength to be respected at a negotiating table, and sit down with both sides." Lula brought up the G20, a loose association of developed nations with sizable economies that met on a regular basis following the onset of the global financial crisis in 2008.
