A 23-year-old Indian-origin man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of an ex-girlfriend in Britain. After the murder, he himself confessed his crime by going to the police station. Jigukumar Sorthi will have to spend at least 28 years behind bars. He has been found guilty of the murder of 21-year-old Bhavini Praveen. In March, he stabbed a knife in Praveen back in Leicester. At Leicester Crown Court hearing, Justice Timothy Spencer told Sorthi that it was a dangerous, cruel and ruthless murder. You killed a beautiful, talented and young girl who was only 21 years old. Also during the murder trial earlier this month, the jury old that Praveen had made up her mind not to marry Sorthi, after which he was feeling cheated. He went to Praveen's house on March 2 and after a few minutes of discussion, Sorthi attacked Praveen with a knife and stabbed her several times. He then left the house. The police and ambulance personnel were called after this incident, but they declared the girl dead. About two hours after the incident, Sorthi reached out to an officer outside the Spinney Hill police station and admitted the murder.
