The world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was lighted up with the Indian tricolor on Saturday, 15 August, on the occasion of India's 74th Independence Day. Taking part in the global celebration of the day, the skyscraper was saffron, wrapped in white and green, while also wishing that the "tricolor of freedom, courage and peace" always prosper in the nation.
According to the information received, the Burj Khalifa was not the only iconic building that was illuminated on Independence Day. New York's iconic Empire State Building was also illuminated on Saturday in the colors of the Indian flag that followed the annual tradition.
Netizens give thanks to UAE: Several netizens came together in the comments section of the video posted on the official account of Burj Khalifa and thanked UAE for honoring India. While some said, 'sending love to India', others said it was a world-class gesture. Many Twitter users also said that it looked "majestic" and "excellent" or "beautiful" to honor the commemoration by the foreign nation.
