Guwahati: A horrific road accident occurred on National Highway-17 in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Sunday, in which many people were badly injured. In fact, seven people were killed and 20 others are said to be injured in a collision with a packed passenger bus on the highway. The accident took place in Chatguri near Panbari area under the jurisdiction of Bogribari police station. Giving information about the case, the police said that after the incident, local people and a team of police rescued the passengers from the trapped vehicles and got them admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment. A senior police officer said that we have received reports that seven people have died tragically in this collision. He said that 20 others were injured in the accident and they are being treated at various hospitals and Guwahati in the area. The bus was going from Sapatgram to Dhubri, while the truck was going to Guwahati. On the other hand, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed grief over the loss of life in the accident and wished the injured to get a speedy recovery.
